FAQ
How far in advance should I book my wedding day makeup? ¡Great question!
It’s absolutely best to book as early as possible, especially if your wedding falls during the fabulous peak season of spring and summer! I recommend booking at least 6–12 months in advance to secure your date. But hey, don't worry—if I’m available, I’m more than happy to accommodate last-minute requests for wedding parties, micro weddings, and elopements. No minimum requirement for bridal party sizes, so you can bring your squad!
2. What’s included in the bridal makeup service? Let me tell you—it's amazing!
The bridal makeup service includes a customized application that’s perfectly tailored to your vision, fabulous strip lashes, a lip color you can keep for touch-ups, and a touch-up kit to keep you looking fresh throughout the day! This way, your look stays absolutely flawless from your very first photos to your unforgettable last dance!
3. Do I need a bridal trial? Absolutely, if you can!
While a bridal trial is optional, I highly recommend it! A trial allows us to perfect your wedding day look in advance, explore a wonderful array of different styles, and ensure everything aligns perfectly with your vision. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to finalize all those exciting details of your makeup plan!
4. Do you travel to my location? Yes, yes, yes!
Of course! As a talented traveling artist, I bring the luxurious salon experience right to you. I travel to your home, your venue, or your chosen location, so you can relax and focus on enjoying your magical day! Just a quick note: travel fees apply based on distance. If the round trip exceeds 3.5 hours, overnight accommodations must be provided by the client to ensure that getting ready is easy and totally seamless on that special morning—getting ready typically starts around 8. I would need overnight accommodations for the night before the big day!
5. How do I (and my wedding party) prepare for my bridal trial or wedding day makeup? Get ready!
Please arrive with CLEANSED & CLEAN, makeup-free skin. You’ll want to gently exfoliate your face 1–2 days prior to your appointment so your skin is glowing! Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer the day of your makeup. Don’t forget to bring along those gorgeous inspiration photos, if you have them, to help us align on your fabulous vision!
6. How long does each makeup application take? Just a little bit of time for perfection!
Each application for wedding party members typically takes about 45 minutes, while the bride gets a luxurious 60 minutes, depending on the look and complexity. Bridal makeup might take slightly longer to ensure every single detail is absolutely perfect. This timing is meticulously scheduled to pave the way for a smooth and stress-free morning!
7. What happens if a wedding party member is running late? No worries, we got this!
If someone in your party is running late, I will do my best to work around it! However, to stay on schedule and ensure everyone is ready on time, I may need to move on to the next person or adjust the order a bit. Timeliness is key to maintaining a calm and enjoyable atmosphere for your special day!
8. Why is it difficult to take last-minute clients on the wedding day? Planning is everything!
Every wedding day is meticulously planned with a carefully crafted schedule to ensure everyone looks stunning on time! Each application is allotted a specific amount of time, and any last-minute additions can shake things up and add stress. This is why it’s so essential to book and plan ahead—it guarantees a seamless, relaxed experience for you and your beloved bridal party!
9. What’s the difference between neutral makeup and natural makeup? Let’s break it down!
Neutral makeup refers to the delightful selection of colors used, such as earthy tones like delightful browns, taupes, beiges, or soft, sweet pinks. It can be subtle or bold but sticks to a wonderfully muted, universal color palette. Natural makeup, on the other hand, focuses on enhancing your gorgeous features in a way that looks as close to your beautiful natural skin as possible. It’s light and minimal, often feeling like sheer coverage with a fabulous “no-makeup” makeup vibe!
10. What’s the difference between soft glam and full glam? Let's glam it up!
Soft glam is a dazzling polished look that enhances your natural features with more defined makeup than a natural look. It includes beautifully blended eyeshadow, subtle contouring, and a radiant finish without ever feeling heavy or overdone. Full glam, however, is bolder and more dramatic! It often features smokey eyes, sharper contouring, bold lips, and fuller coverage for a striking, photo-ready look that’ll steal the show!
11. Do I have to wear foundation, and can you explain why? Let's talk about it!
You don’t have to wear foundation if you’re just not comfortable with it (though I might not be the right artist for you if that’s the case, as makeup will not last as well), but I highly recommend it for so many reasons! Foundation creates an even canvas, helping to smooth out skin tone and reduce any redness or blemishes. It ensures that your makeup photographs beautifully under different lighting conditions, and long-wear foundations provide a perfect base for the rest of your makeup, keeping it in place throughout the entire day! And for those who love a lighter feel, I can definitely use sheer or skin-like foundations for a natural look that you’ll adore!
12. What happens if my bridal party is large? More fun, more teamwork!
For parties larger than six, I’ll bring along a fabulous second makeup artist to ensure everyone is ready on time and feeling fabulous without feeling rushed! A fee of $150 applies for the extra glam squad member.
13. Is there an additional fee for holidays or early start times? Good to know!
Yes, there’s a $250 holiday surcharge for weddings on Labor Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, New Year’s Eve/Day, and Christmas Eve/Day—because those special dates deserve a little extra love! For early start times (before 8 a.m.), there is an additional $100 fee because we want to ensure you’re ready to shine right from the crack of dawn!
14. What makeup brands do you use? Amazing choices!
I use a wonderful range of professional, high-quality and luxury brands that guarantee a flawless, long-lasting finish. My kit is fully inclusive and features products suitable for all skin tones and types, so everyone feels beautiful!
15. How long will my makeup last? All day, maybe into the night!
Your makeup is designed to last all day and night! I use fantastic techniques and products that ensure your stunning look endures through tears, sweat, and all that dancing! Plus, your touch-up kit keeps you looking fresh for any unexpected moments during your celebration!
